Canada 150
OH CANADA! This July long weekend, we spent Canada's 150th birthday with family and friends at our family cabin located on Brereton Lake. We absolutely love the summer and spending time at the lake is our favourite place to be when we are not working or shooting weddings. From fishing, to SUP boarding, to tanning and drinking cocktails on the dock, the lake is our happy place.
Every year on Canada day, we have a big family gathering, eat lots of food, and sit out on the dock to watch all the fireworks around the lake once the sun goes down. My dad, uncle, cousin and baby cousin all share birthdays extremely close together, and we usually end up having a large family birthday to celebrate! This year we celebrated with THREE cakes, fireworks, backyard beer pong and sparklers!
One of our favourite things about the lake is the GORGEOUS sunsets that take place. We often will head down to the dock after dinner, go on a evening boat cruise and soak in the last moments of sunshine before the night takes over.
We are so happy and proud to be Canadians! We live in such a beautiful country, and even though the weather may be cold in the winter... the summers always make up for it!
