Date Day: Skating at the Forks

The lockdowns of late 2020 and early 2021 in Manitoba have kept us from our regular winter activities. We have our regular work-from-home routines, including daily long walks with our dog Rosie, but it’s been a while since we got into the car to go “do” something (other than shop for essential items at Superstore).

When we saw that the Forks river trail had opened, we knew we needed to go for a skate!

Back in January of 2013, our first date was skating at the Forks. Since then we do our best to revisit the river trail a couple times a year!

On this particular day in early January there was a beautiful hoarfrost which has covered nearly every tree in Winnipeg. By mid-afternoon most of it had melted away under the heat of the sun, but we did our best to snag a quick picture of it.
