West Coast, Best Coast

We absolutely LOVE the west coast! This past year alone, we have found ourselves out in beautiful British Columbia four times (and wishing we could have gone back many more)! Our most recent trip was thanks to a film project for a EPIC teen camp on Vancouver Island. Not only did we have a blast filming, but we also had the opportunity to stay a couple extra days and celebrate our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Woohoo!

We started off our anniversary celebrations by staying a couple of nights at the Villa Eyrie Resort which is located on the side of the mountain overlooking a beautiful inlet! We still dream about our stay at the Villa Eyrie as it is as stunning as it is relaxing! We enjoyed amazing wine and cider tours from local vineyards/orchards, soaks in the mineral spa and the most incredible dinner at restaurant on site.

The next part of our anniversary adventure landed us a touch further down the island in Sidney, British Columbia. In Sidney, we spent our time walking the pier, eating ice cream, and watching families catch fresh crabs from the ocean on a warm summer's night.

From Sidney, we hopped on the ferry and headed over to Vancouver for the day to meet up with some friends from Winnipeg (who were also vacationing in Vancouver at the same time!) We shopped Gastown, ate at Tacofino (which is home to the most LIFE-CHANGING tacos you will ever eat), and saw orcas playing in the ocean on our ferry back to Sidney.

The last leg of our trip consisted of hanging out in downtown Victoria, British Columbia, spending time with family, and enjoying some sun at the beach. In downtown Victoria, we love taking a stroll down FanTan Alley, checking out all the cute local shops, walking down the Breakwater and enjoying breakfast at Jam Cafe. We try to always stop at each of these places whenever we go and visit!

Just reminiscing over this trip to British Columbia makes us want to plan another one! But for now, we will just dream about the mountains and ocean!
