After first meeting Meghan and Chet we knew we wanted to shoot their wedding. All Meghan had to do was describe their venue, her family's cottage, and we were in all in! Turns out, the venue was even more beautiful than described and Meghan and Chet were even more beautiful a couple than we could have imagined.
July 24 was a perfect day for a wedding. A cooler morning, which made for a perfectly relaxing drive in from Winnipeg, and a scorching sunset, ideal for the reception atop the boathouse roof. Having grown up on Lake of the Woods, a midsummer trip back was more than welcome!
Chet is a professional hockey player and his wise cracks during the vows had us laughing over and over again. On that note, I recently shared with Meghan that I saw Chet's brother Calvin on TSN (he is signed to the Colorado Avalanche) and I had a "I know him" hockey-fan moment in my living room!
All of that being said, Chet and Meghan are beautiful, charming and hospitable. At the end of the night Chet was sure to walk us down the driveway, safely to our car, with a handful of water bottles for our long trek home. Seriously, class act.
